Psychodynamic PsychotherapyA modality of "talk therapy" that will help you access the roots of your inner conflicts. Sometimes these conflicts manifest as sadness, anger, or anxiety. At other times, the conflicts reveal themselves through personal and relational patterns that you keep repeating again and again. Psychodynamic psychotherapy requires we meet once or twice a week.
"Psychodynamic treatment focuses on building core psychological strengths - such as the capacity to have more fulfilling relationships, to make more effective use of one’s abilities, and to face life’s challenges with greater freedom and flexibility." - Jonathan Shedler

Cognitive Behavioral TherapyCognitive-behavioral therapy is based on the belief that thoughts, rather than people or events, cause our negative feelings. The therapist assists the patient in identifying, testing the reality of, and correcting dysfunctional beliefs underlying their thinking. The therapist then helps the patient modify those thoughts and the behaviors that flow from them. CBT is a structured collaboration between therapist and patient, and often calls for homework assignments.
