Psychoanalytic Field Theory and the Clinical Setting
Study & Supervision Group
What's this group about? This Study and Supervision Group focuses on Field Theory and its applications in the clinical setting.
The group meets 3 terms during the year (Spring, Summer, Fall) for 6 weeks each term. Clinicians are welcome to join for one or more terms. Sessions are structured around two components: didactic and clinical. The didactic part of each session relies on short lectures, or papers published by psychoanalysts working within the major branches of field theory (South American, North American, and Italian), while the clinical portion of the session focuses on vignettes brought by the participants. Field theory is built upon the premise that the human experience is bi-personal in nature: the "here and now with me" is shared, consciously and unconsciously, by members of the therapeutic dyad, and it creates an affective world. This is a great opportunity for networking, and expanding technique and theoretical frames. The group meets remotely on Tuesdays from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm (ET). The cost per session is $55. The Spring term starts on April 2nd. |
