A Primer on Psychodynamic Diagnosis
8-Week Group
What's this group about? This course introduces clinicians to a psychoanalytic approach to diagnosis. In order to illuminate the diagnostic process, we will explore psychodynamic concepts of personality structure in tandem with ego functions (mental functioning), symptoms, and defensive patterns.
Participants will read and discuss contemporary psychoanalytic papers (45 minutes) and explore clinical material through the lens of psychoanalysis (45 minutes). This is a great opportunity for networking, and expanding technique and theoretical frames. The group will meet either remotely or in-person depending on availability. The group is limited to 6 participants. The cost per session is $60. |
How do I sign up?Please call (908-463-5989) or email Arlene Crespo-Reyes, our Administrative Assistant, to schedule a short conversation in order to get to know your needs and hopes, answer your questions, and help you decide if the group is a good fit for you.
