Psychiatrist
Dr. Hernández completed his medical training at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, where he did graduate training in surgery and internal medicine. He completed his training in psychiatry at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, and did a fellowship at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in Manhattan, NY.
Dr. Hernández serves as program director of the Psychiatry Residency Program and Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at Putnam Hospital Center. He is a board-certified and fellowship-trained consultation liaison and emergency psychiatrist with more than ten years of clinical experience. He has been passionate about resident and medical student teaching since his time as a chief resident.
